Cammy V Exclusive Interview for EDMDroid Asia

1. Please tell us and our readers more about the nightlife in the Philippines right now in times of Covid, specially in your hometown of Manila?

Manila Philippines' nightlife is back and booming like we never left. Filipinos are still wearing masks and social distancing but I would say we party more responsibly in that sense. The energy and excitement of the crowd is the charm of this city's nightlife so much so as the amazing DJs in my hometown.

2. How long have you been DJing & Producing and what can we expect next from you?

It all started from curiosity, as my friends were DJs. I felt the need to explore how to DJ and find out what is the nightlife in Manila. Back in 2011, I was asked if I wanted to learn how to DJ and I believe saying yes is the best decision I've made in my life. Since then, I've been a full time Dj for 11 years now and I am now venturing into singing original tracks with XXRTASAUS and hopefully the whole world will enjoy.

3. What has been your best and your worst gig experience so far. Be honest please, don't hold back.

The best show I had was in Bacolod City Philippines, it was at SummerSmash 2015. The energy of the crowd was intoxicating and infectious. Thousands of people gathered as they all jumped and sang songs together. To me, this is one of the best crowds as everyone connected through music I played during the festival. It's not about fancy equipment or the location but it's the people who make it the best gig of my career. The worst gig was when I had food poisoning during my tour, I was in Davao City during the 2nd leg of my 3 show tour that week. I felt so sick that I was vomiting and I wanted to stay in my hotel room to recover, but hey, show must go on! So I had to drink rehydrating electrolytes all night and run to the bathroom during my set.

4. If you had to choose, which profession would you be going with? DJ or something else?

At this point in my life, I would say Djing is my passion and I am happy doing what I do. Who knows what the future may hold, Cammy V. is full of surprises.

6. With which intl. act would you love to collaborate and why?

I would be honoured to collaborate or share the stage with Will Sparks as he is one of the main influences I have when it comes to my current sound and inspiration to how I perform on stage. His energy, presence and alluring dark beats is definitely what I resonate with as Cammy V.
