DJ Alex Matt Exclusive Interview for EDMDroid Asia

1. Please tell us and our readers more about the nightlife in Cambodia right now in times of Covid.

Phnom Penh has a lot to offer when it comes to nightlife. There are a lot of great bars and clubs, so you definitely won’t disappoint for a big night out. Like many other countries around the world, we are also hit pretty hard by the pandemic. Many of the night time entertainment places have already shut down because they cannot afford the high renting price with no source of income. Everyone is now doing their duty as a good citizen and stays at home most of the time. At the current stage, there is not much going on if you decided to go for a night out in Phnom Penh. However, me and our team are doing our best to entertain our audience at home via our new content “Club Online” which is live on my Facebook page every Tuesday at 9pm.

2. How long have you been DJing/Producing and what can we expect next?

I have been a DJ for 6 years. Currently, I am working on improving my songwriting abilities, new DJ techniques and I hope I will be able to show the potential of my music on the international stage to let the world know more about Cambodia.

3. What has been your best and your worst gig experience so far. Be honest please.

My best experience is seeing the audience having fun, singing, and dancing to the song that I play for them. At every stage, I always get different experiences and lessons. I really like learning from those new experiences and develop myself further in the future.

There are not many bad experiences because I always come prepared with every event that I go to. However, there is still some unexpected problems such as a power outage when the audience is enjoying the show; and playing the wrong track desk hahaha.
